I believe that Protestants and Catholics are Christians. They believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Many of them are trying to serve Him to the best of their ability. That poem gives one a lot to think about, but I beg to differ with the idea that the devil is not our enemy. The church often refers to him as such. And certainly people can make us their enemies, even if we don't think of them as our enemies...
