Friends,
When Archbishop Auxentios, a basically well-intentioned but horrible administrator, died in 1994, he was succeeded by Archbishop Maximos.
Soon thereafter, HOCNA left communion with said Archbishop Maximos. Archbishop Maximos then brought in the pedophile Metropolitan Pangratios who had at that time a Synod which also had an ecumenist bishop on its rolls (I know this from personal contact).
The Lamians, who separated from the GOC of Archbishop Chrysostomos II (who had separated from Auxentios along with the vast majority of the Synod), now have declared Archbishop Auxentios's deposition to be in error. Ok, so if that is the case, why did they not enter communion with Archbishop Maximos and forget having their own Archbishop? Do they view HOCNA as the rightful successor to Arch. Auxentios and NOT Arch Maximos?
Finally, does anyone know anything else about Archishop Maximos? Does the St Seraphim of Platina Hermitage in California still fall under him?
Inquiring minds want to know
