In another thread, I discussed how prison populations are baking altar breads used by the Roman Catholic churches.

Several articles have suggested that most of the food served at colleges, universities, and hospitals is now being prepared in microwavable plastic packages that can be taken from the freezer, defrosted for a few minutes, and then popped into boiling water for college students and hospital patients. The food tastes satisfactory, but is actually adulterated once cooked in plastic.
When I was attending California State Northridge, I asked some of the employees if they prepared any fresh foods. They showed me boxes of pre-prepared, pre-cooked frozen food that was packaged in plastic bags ready to be put in the pot or the microwave. Nothing was fresh as even the salads were pre-cut and pre-sliced and stored in plastic bags so that the lettuce was already turning brown.
According to several articles that I have read, most food served to students or hospitalized patients and staff are being produced by the for-profit prison populations. Sadly, American prisons need to be staffed 24/7 in order to complete orders for these food products. Thus, it is advantageous for more prisoners to receive lengthy sentences to guarantee a continuous work force. The idea of converting to for-profit prisons is not good. It may sound like capitalism, but it becomes forced slave labor, much like the Chinese slave labor prisons where political prisoners make many of the goods that Americans consume. In addition, prisoners often leave prison with bills they must pay for room, board, food, and medical care. And remember that in prisons, basic health care needs are often not addressed (even if prisoners can pay for medical help). Prisoners often suffer with cancerous tumors and heart attacks as they also eat this same unhealthy processed food that is GMO and contaminated with Monsanto's Round-Up (glyphosates), other herbicides and pesticides.
See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glyphosate -- Note that this wiki article downplays the role of Round Up in the development of cancers, even though California has recently declared that Round Up is carcinogenic and a WHO study also confirmed this link between Round Up and cancerous tumors. This shows that Wiki is controlled by their senior editors, is not a great source of information, and is unreliable as a reference.
