What to Pray When the Presanctified Divine Liturgy Isn’t Offered?

I hope everyone’s Great Lent is going well! I’m trying to understand what the Typikon prescribes for days when the Presanctified Divine Liturgy is appointed but isn’t offered at my parish. I know that if it were served, we wouldn’t pray Vespers separately, since the Presanctified Divine Liturgy begins in a similar way. But if the Presanctified Divine Liturgy isn’t available, what should be prayed instead?

Would it just be the Typica for weekdays in Great Lent, or should one also try to format and pray Vespers for the day as well? I’m still new to Orthodoxy and the liturgical cycle, so I’d really appreciate any guidance on this.

Hello, yes, there is a way to proceed, even in parishes when the pre-sanctified are not served. You will still say the vespers... It is described in the book "The order of divine services according to the usage of the Russian Orthodox Church" by Peter Fekula and Matthew Williams, published by Saint John of Kronstadt Press.

Instructions for Wednesday evening (vespers)

Slavonic:

А идеже несть преждесвященныя, поются на вечерни стихиры на 6, подобны триоди: и минеи. Слава, и ныне, богородичен, по гласу минеи. На стиховне триоди самогласен дне, дважды: и мученичен, иже есть на Господи воззвах: Слава, и ныне, богородичен тогоже гласа, и обычное кончание. Входяще же в трапезу, ядим сухоядение: пием и сок с медом. В четверток же тоя седмицы трапезы не поставляем, но пребываем постящеся даже до пятка: тогда бо ядим входяще в трапезу.

• the last 3 from the Triodion (the first are kept for the apostichas)
• 3 for the saint
• glory, and ... from the Triodion /Or glory, for the saint, and now from the Menaion

At the aposticha:

Thank you very much for your help! Right now, I am only fluent in English, but I can typically read Spanish and Latin. I really appreciate the offer for the French instructions, but unfortunately, I won’t be able to reliably read them.

I found a PDF of The Order of Divine Services by Fekula and Williams and located the page describing how to format the service. That has been very helpful! I really appreciate you taking the time to point me in the right direction.
