Are TOC daily readings and prayers, epistle & gospel, same as all Russian Orthodox versions? One reason for my asking is a particular version of the Lord’s Prayer. I purchased an Orthodox Study Bible and the Lord’s Prayer says ‘forgive us our trespasses as we ..’ BUT, the Jordanville Prayer Book says it the way we do – ‘forgive us our debts as we …’.
I have to wonder; since I’ve been reading the daily readings since the passing of my mother in 2011, have I been reading accurate translations? The introduction pages to this beautiful study bible says it’s translated from the Septuagint. There’s no doubt in my mind that it isn’t, however; why would they have the Lord’s Prayer using the Anglican words? I say Anglican because the RO priest who did my mother’s funeral service told me this.
