Since Joasia has asked an interesting question, I have copied her question from Intra-GOC polemics to start a new thread here in World Orthodoxy.
joasia wrote:Didn't Patriarchate Meletios die with his mouth wide open so much that his bowels could be seen? It was right before he was in such agony and confessed that he had caused a great schism.
Isn't the departed EP Meletios the one who introduced the New Calendar in Greece and then elsewhere?
And did not he have a full masonic funeral?
If the EP Meletios did confess that he had caused a great schism, then perhaps he did have final repentance.
Furthermore, if the EP Meletios did confess that he had caused a great schism when on his death bed, then perhaps that would be another argument on our side that the New Calendarists are the ones in schism.
