Yes, cartoons and tv and movies and music in general are all being used for indoctrination and control.

Yes, I have been aware of "sick" cartoons with a political and social agenda (promoting birth control) ever since I was a child. I avoided those types of cartoons and soon tired of the entire cartoon industry. That was back in the early 1960s.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

Well, have you seen the Beevis and Butthead, or the Simpsons cartoons? They were a complete shock when they first came on TV. They are the ugliest and most grotesque cartoons I have seen, and their subject matter was even more abysmal! This is the symptom of a society that is collapsing spiritually. The arts and music show our spiritual pulse.

Beevis and Butthead was supposed to be a caricature of contemporary youth; the author, Mike Judge, is actually rather conservative. But you could argue that even dignifying such behavior with a parody is conceding too much. :?

Hmmm. Yes, I think that I would go with that one. I mean, perhaps he was trying to poke fun at and even critique this fallen condition in youth. Satyr is a well-recognised form of critique and protest; however, it is also known that satyr is a literary device that can backfire on you. I would estimate that that has indeed happened here. Possibly because the youth are too far gone to "get it" that they are being made fun of here, and rather they are rejoicing in what they perceive is a cultural artifact that is, in fact, encouraging and supportive of their rude, obnoxious, and self-demeaning behaviours.

No, not unless it is Penny McLean's 1976 disco song, "Lady Bump!"
