Thank you for posting those pictures. I had always wondered what the persecuted Russians used in the Gulags for liturgical items. We have only heard stories, so it was nice to see.
I was really struck by the photo of the chalice-made-mug. They drank the cup of poison unto themselves, for they took what was Holy unworthily. The Atheist regime reaped what it sowed. Look where they are now.
For a mindset so stuck on empirical and thus solid evidence, they can find no proof that persecution nor murder will ever eliminate the "poison of religion". When did it ever work? It only fomented the fervor of the religious, and the witness of the Martyrs and their blood was like an acid eating away at the foundation of the atheist regime. So much time and energy was/is spent persecuting something they believe doesn't exist.
