I don't like the way you continually accuse Fr Akakije of lust for power. Even our Met Paul does not accuse him of this. Isn't it possible he is simply misguided, and wanted to do the right thing, i.e. give the STOC a bishop, by the wrong means, i.e. by seeking consecration without the permission of his Synod?

These kinds of character assassinations come dangerously close to violating our forum rules that forbid personal attacks. I think if you continue to follow this line of argument you will be banned.

Jgress,

I would invoke the ArchBishop's letter and statement #7 for my defense.
Also the Holy synods 3rd to last paragraph, regarding the Aug 3 meeting.

Let's hope and pray that your views of fr Akakios are true, I would not mind being wrong and would actually welcome it if it meant a neat and proper ending to all this.
Any future comments will be avoided/critiqued as to the forums protocol. Sorry for the trouble and thank You for the support.

"May our Lord grant to our estranged brethren understanding to see the consequences of their actions" and return to the canonical order."Nothing is more sorrowful and distressing than the loss of beloved persons". And this picture is truly sorrowful.

The Encyclical speaks for itself. The Holy Synod has spoken! I think the Akakian schism is baseless and left without arguments. We pray for their come back to the canonic order!

It is very nice Encyclical is it the first one or the second one for (or even about ) Serbia i don't remember. It says there that the minority around bp Akakije didn't want to have anything with majority of GOX in Serbia, but His grace Arb Kalinik forgot how he said about this majority that they should be anathematised for not letting fr Stefan to serve in Smederevo, he also said that RTOC is not a church but some group of people that came to GOX but now he calls them church, so you see, I personally can't read anything from GOX Synod and not wonder what stands behind it sorry but allot of writing in the Encyclical is not true and misleading. But all of this has already been said.
P.S
br Sava can we come to the meeting...?

Brother, If you are left without arguments it is better to remain silent and don't accuse the Holy Synod and the Metropolitans for lying and that they are misleading orthodox souls through their encyclical. This is worthy for epitimion and then ask your self who must be anathematised (according to your logic  ). Be more careful next time! The ecclesiastical matters are not for silly-playing and for chatting in a forum while drinking coffee!

You don't have to ask it from br Sava. As he mentioned, the encyclical speaks for itself.
"All Genuine Orthodox Christians of Serbia that remain in canonical order and recognize the Holy Synod, which from the beginning was responsible for the reorganization of the Serbian Church, will have a right to participate."

If you consider your self so and you are sincerely concerned about the future of The True Orthodox Church of Serbia, you are welcomed! The Church doesn't exclude dissenters because it has nothing to fear of, as the akakian "council" did !
