I'm one of those people, been reading Orthodox material for several years now.
My understanding of HOCNA is, they were New Calender Greeks (without the fullness of Orthodoxy, no toll houses, etc.), then switched to ROCOR, but ignored the entire Synod on many doctrinal issues often acting Greek elitists (as if they had been part of some pure Old Calendar Greek tradition to begin with) and would not unlearn their modernist starting points like "Western Captivity" and evolution. Then they, along with Deacon Puhalo, seem to have discovered the doctrine of Redemption according to the first Metr. of Rocor, which had basically been suppressed, and starting spreading it. Suddenly references to "Blessed Augustine" change to "the Neo-platonist philospher Augustine" and "greatest of heresiarchs". After that, the writings I've read just seem to breathe hate, of the entire Latin pre-schism West and even any mainstream Eastern Orthodox figure who could possibly be under Western influence like Nicodemus of the Holy Mountain, Theophan the Recluse, Ignatius Brianianchov(.sp?). Then they split off ROCOR, when the Abbot of the leading monastery comes under investigation, accusing ROCOR of suddenly being ecumenist, when the policies don't seem to have changed at all (at that point to my knowledge), seeing as even under Metr. Philaret they were considered "soft" by the Old Calendar communions (I believe one had to be tricked by the HOCNA group into communion with ROCOR for a brief time).

Hieromonk Patapios, which part of ROCOR did he go with, who wrote such excellent review of Ware's The Orthodox Church and The Orthodox Way?

Fr. Alexey Young (Hieromonk Ambrose), I think I read he is in a monstery in West Virginia, is that Greek (Constantinope) or Holy Cross Hermitage (ROCOR/MP?, as in the movie From the Little Mountain)?
Platina is under the Serbs, but are the Serbs themselves a Old Calendar part of the OCA?
At this point I'm considering whether I should just join "World Orthodoxy", as it is called here, which local to me, would either be OCA or ROCOR/MP based on various interpretations of prophecies that Russian Patriarchate and ROCOR are supposed to reunite after acknowledgement of New Martyrs.
I'm also interested in the Greek Old Calendar churches (other than HOCNA) in America. Do they consider themselves the only remaining Orthodox ("World Orthodoxy" without grace), or are "walled-off" in "resistance"? If ROCOR was the legit. successor of the de facto Russian lead unity of Orthodox in America, how can they not be considered in schism for not being part of ROCOR (before it supposed fall with the Vitaly and reunion with Moscow)?

I'm not sure this is true or not but a priest I talked to said he read some HOCNA material and said they believe Christ did'nt redeem us on the Cross but redeemed the human race when he prayed at Gethsemane and wept tears of blood. Anyone else heard this ?
