I have just read elsewhere on the web a post from Dr. Magerovsky who indicates that a "canonical ROCOR" will be continued with Bps Daniel and Agafangel heading a new temporary higher authority based on the ukaz which allowed ROCOR to be formed in the first place.

This was what FROC/ROAC does (new temporary higher authority based on the ukaz nº 362) in the nineties and it was supported by Bishop Gregory (Grabbe) the best canonist in our time.

Another "Russian Church"?

Post by Kybihetz21 »

Well I guess that the fact that there are other Russian/of Russia (Russkaia, Rossiskaia) Churches out there is not enough for Mr. Magerovsky and he is planning to create yet another one. In my opinion, if bishops Agafangel and Daniil are sincere, they should just try to communicate and join forces with the already existing groups (Bishop Vladimir or Metropolitan Valentin would be the best choices, while Archbishop Tixon and Metropolitan Antonii would be the worst ones). Like I have always said, if those people that now claim faithfulness to the historical path of ROCOR had united forces with Metropolitan Vitalii (of blessed memory) at the beginning, none of this would be happening. There were always rumors that implied an eventual union with ROCIE, but the personal pride and ambition of some of the so called “Orthodox hierarchs” was greater than the desire to struggle for the Truth of Christ. At the end one is left with the impression that these individuals only aim at earthly recognition and praise (based on empty titles and fame, even if only among the traditionalist Orthodox Christians). Given the sad and deplorable situation of the Russian Orthodox Church at this moment, we, Orthodox Christians (no matter what jurisdiction) should pray for the achievement of a real Orthodox and God fearing unity that would help all the children of the Russian Church during these times of confusion and delusional pride. May the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia help us discern the right path towards salvation, just like they did when faced with similar circumstances.

I agree with you, it is a very sad situation, similar to that one which had the Greeks some years ago. I think that the division in the true Orthodoxy because of the pride of the hierarches is something very sad and it is very difficult for people that are looking for the true Faith to be able to discern where the Church is, because of so much division, and because the division is not a Christian quality. A true united Church would help poeple to discern quickly which is the true Church. Well, on a side will the "unity" of all ecumenists and modernists and on the other one the unity of all the Jurisdictions of the true Church. There everything will be very clear.

I join to you in prayer for the unity of the true Church.
