Plans for after ROCOR-MP unification

Post by michigan »

For those who KNOW (not speculate):

What will those (clergy, parishes, monasteries) in ROCOR who are opposed to the union do after the union takes place? Are they unanimous on their course of action? Will some or most obey their bishops, personal feelings aside, and just hope for the best?

After 75 views it seems it might be hard to find someone who can awnser that question. I too am interested in the course that ROCOR will take since I belong to that church. But I think the best way to find out is to go to the primary source - ie ask, write, phone, email - people who have the knowledge and authority to awnser such questions such as priests and bishops.

I think the silence you hear is the voice of people who know what exactly they are up against and the danger of loose words.

Those who are properly loyal needn't restate their loyalty constantly as we see so disturbingly lately in ROCOR. It is more likely that they would "speak" by silence until they could no longer stay silent and still be faithful to the Church itself.

We will see what happens to the truly faithful when/if Met Laurus brings "ROCOR" into schism by finalizing his submission to the MP - an anathematized non-church created by Bolshevik authorities for their own purposes and still serving "all good initiatives" of their government.

May the Lord have mercy on us all.

Many people, we have already told too much about the future of ROCOR and, What another thing more could we say to people whom don't want to hear or they look for hear that that they want to hear? we here have a said: "There is not worse deaf than that one whom doesn't want to hear".

MP is not the "Russian Church Mother" but an institution created by Stalin, ROCOR wants to be in communion with it, then its future cannot be good...

Is there any existing Russian Church (a church inside Russia) that you feel is not tainted by Stalin?

I have just read elsewhere on the web a post from Dr. Magerovsky who indicates that a "canonical ROCOR" will be continued with Bps Daniel and Agafangel heading a new temporary higher authority based on the ukaz which allowed ROCOR to be formed in the first place.

Earlier, Dr Magerovsky noted that 50 of the 70 clergymen at the Eastern Diocese meeting proposed a statement against the "union" with the MP, but were not allowed to read it or vote on it, so it looks like ROCOR will continue, and ROCOR-L can be part of the MP.

If the flock wished to be part of the MP, they could have found MP or OCA churches all on their own without help from Metropolitan Laurus. While many will follow him into schism, one has to ask why given that if they believed in the MP and the OCA, they could have left long ago.
