Of course, I could always hold that your church broke away from Orthodox Christianity by accepting Chalcedon, but if that was all we said, we'd get no where fast.
As far as I can tell, no one in the Eastern Orthodox world has demonstrated, from our "monophysite" liturgies, prayers, patristic writings, theological treatises, etc. that our Christology is in error, and that Chalcedonian Christology alone is correct. You appeal to Chalcedon, but you also acknowledge that we don't accept it. Prove to me from all of the things I mentioned that our theology is heretical. Prove to me from all that came before Chalcedon that both Eastern Orthodox and "the monophysites" hold in common that our theology is heretical, and only yours is correct. If that can be established, I'd convert. But thus far, no one I've ever dealt with, either in print or in person/online, has been able to do that, and I believe that is because it is not possible. I'm willing to be proven wrong. Unfortunately, no one really has anything substantial to say, but rather, they are content to beat us over the head with a name that doesn't really apply to us, but which they use anyway because they are ignorant of the actual facts. Oh well. I hope this sort of thing makes you grow in holiness, because it doesn't really do much for me. I'm through.
