I only have one piercing in my ear. It was sort of done as a dare. I was a seminarian in the RC church at the time and a friend of mine who was also studying (in a different seminary) came and visited me and we hung out for the weekend and he dared me to do it as he had done it and didnt think I would go through with it. So I did it.

I havent worn the earring since I left the RCC 2 yrs ago and dont plan to wear anything ever again. Never got a tatoo (cant stand needles, thankfully I dont do crack LOL).

I think that there is truth in the fact that we make mistakes or act childish at times in our lives and the results serve as penance for these actions but they also serve as a teaching tool for us and for others to show that we are human and we fall and we fail. This shows that we are willing to carry these scars with us and repent of the acctions and live with these things and show others that we are willing to live Christian lives regardless of our past. Thank God for mercy and forgiveness and the eternal love of Christ ot us unworthy sinners.
