Secondly, if the Moscow Patriarchate has no grace, then surely ROCOR has no grace. After the catastrophe of World War II, ROCOR was re-formed with bishops and clergy who escaped from the Soviet Union, mostly from the Ukraine and Belarus. They had all been ordained or consecrated by bishops of the MP, to which they themselves had belonged. Having escaped the Soviet nightmare and joined ROCOR, they went on to consecrate other ROCOR bishops who have consecrated our present bishops, who in turn have ordained clergy. Therefore, if our post-War bishops from the Soviet Union had no grace, then do we? [...]

This argument is ridiculous, the MP before the revolution is not the same as the MP after the Sergianist betrayal. The ROCOR comes from the MP before Revolution. But with the Sergianist betrayal, the bishops of the MP entered in the category of those who fall during persecution. The crime is not having fallen but their unrepentance.

When we confess our sins, we are not to look for excuse as they are doing : "yes we saved the church". This shows they are unrepentant...

MP bishops and priests who came over to ROCOR escaping the Soviet Union after WWII. i.e. after the "Moscow Patriarchate was created by Stalin".

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

My family converted to Holy Orthodoxy about ten years ago now and are "Antiochian" in the USA. Personally, I believe that the Old Calendar is canonically and theologically correct - its even scientifically preferred (Tropical Year).

I also believe it is the will of God that the Orthodox Calendar be used.
This is clear from the Holy Fire and from the Holy Thorn of Glastonbury that blooms on Orthodox Christmas, as well as the appearance of Saints on their "Old" (true) calendar dates. To the old Calendar farmers, even the cattle knelt on "Old" Christmas in Glastonbury.

Also, being a convert and familiar with other forms of "christianity", there is great danger and harm posed by Ecumenism as currently practiced. Only the whole Orthodox Church with the guidance of the Holy Spirit can rightfully govern, and this requires wisdom and innocence.

When our Lord gave the Apostles the power to bind and loose, it seems that the power to bind men and loose sin is certainly preferred. All the Saints pray for enemies and bless those who curse them. Shouldn't we therefore seek to bind all men in the Orthodox Faith and in the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, and loose all manner of sin?

Please prayerfully consider that as with ones own self, perhaps with the Church as well, the bowel is best cleaned from the inside.

respectfully yours in Christ,

andy

Orthodox6

I rather liked the bowel analogy. It really goes right to the point that our soul's garmet is filty and we need to be working on cleaning it, something that I think we don't do enough of today.
