Ludmilla's writing about the brother's keeper thing reminded me of another thing. When God confronted Adam & Eve about eating the forbidden fruit, didn't Adam try to pass off the blame onto Eve, saying she tempted him? Geez, for all our advancements, times just don't change. :ohvey: (Even though Eve shouldn't have done what she did either).

There is a lot of specifics discussed here. But, there is a common variable. We are all sinners and therefore, we can be influenced by the evil one. A woman can be covered from head to toe, with only her eyes exposed, and a man can still fall into lust with her because of her eyes. Or a man or a woman can develop lust for the other even if he or she is not present. It is the source of the temptation that causes these reactions, IF we accept the thought.
And don't forget that women can also feel offended by the way a woman dresses in church. Either way, people are scandalized.
Refuse to accept that first thought and then the sin will be avoided.
Even if we are standing in church and we see a woman dressed inappropriately, to whatever standard each one of us labels as inappropriate, we can still fight off those thoughts by correcting ourselves from judging and remembering the examples of the humility of the saints and more importantly the humily of Christ.
We have to remind ourselves that the battle is not with what we see, but with the source of the disturbance in our hearts...the evil one never sleeps.
I try to remember that for myself, everytime I read the posts on this cafe. Sometimes I remember to correct myself and sometimes I don't.
