What about the Serbians? There is a Serbian women's monastert here in AZ that I have been to and was very impressed by it (please BTW remember these holy nuns in prayer as they need all the help they can get with thier current building project). I that unlike the Greek bishops there is little to no tension between the Serbian Monastics here and the Serbian Bishops (thus I am assuming the bishops are very Traditional). Also isn't St. Herman's in California part of the Serbian jurisdiction now?]

Yes St Herman's is now part of the Serbian Orthodox Church after a period of... well... unrest. I think most of us probably love that little monastery and press.

As for the Serbian Church, the people are very solid in Serbia, and all the Serbian Orthodox that I know in the United States are wonderful. As was explained to me, there is a bishop (in the Serbian Church) here and there that is ecumenist or something, but it never trickles down to the people. The Serbian people fight for what is right as seen the article about such a situation elsewhere on this forum.

In my church, I've been blessed to meet great, solid Orthodox people from both the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Old Calendar Orthodox Church of Greece.

At least they have returned from land of vagante-ism into Orthodoxy. Is there any information online baout the history of the monastery and information about it.

While not perfect that sounds a lot better than most jurisdictions.

I am personally a strong traditionalist, I worry about some of the "reforms" that have taken place in the past century I thought a general discussion thread about modernism and the problems it can cause would be a good idea.

check out this site and see what your parish is rated as far as modernism.

Very good post Natasha. I despair about the future of Orthodoxy. The future does not look bright for those who love truth.
