How exactly does monarchy equal some sort of yoke?

Forgive me if this sounds snide, but....
How does our (US) system any different? Our oh so glorious republic only responds to the interests of the upper-classes. Or who ever can right the biggest check.
I think most people's dislike of monarchies comes from the screwd up version the Franks came up. In both England (before the Norman Conquest) and in Russia (before Peter the-not-so Great, I believe) the non-land owning classes were free citizens, probably more so than I.
If I read correctly St. Vladimir, after converting, implemented, for want of a better word, a national healthcare/welfare system or something along those lines. Assuming that's correct, he was over 1000 years ahead of our government.
For any that are interested, here is a good article on the Monarchy-NO Monarchy debate.
Accusing Slobo for ethnic crimes is a nonsense.. The guy is a genuine internationalist, he doesn't love or hate serbs more then hungarians or moslems, etc.. It is a western media toy - they needed a serbian nazi to counterbalance croatian, albanian, etc genuine nazies, so they invented the "Slobo Great Serbia" idea.. It never happened in reality..
I partially agree with you Daniel...I think the differences are in the technicalities, like you can't elect the King, but you could be elected President
However, I wouldn't go so far as to say that you are less free than the serfs...they didn't even have the option of literacy.
And since no one else here has addressed it yet, a Heavenly King is enough for me, I don't see any reason why we should try to create an earthly kingdom.
