The situation is getting desperate.

Police must wear masks whenever they encounter people.

Of course, the homeless are being singled out, but non-homeless persons, such as nurses, doctors, and vendors who have contact with the homeless may also become infected especially if they work long hours and do not get enough sleep. Lack of sleep depresses one's immune system.

Who might be infected? Anyone who visits Los Angeles, boards a jet out of Los Angeles, or takes a train or bus could be infected.

As I mentioned earlier, I knew about this strain of antibiotic resistant TB way back in 1994. When I was in college, I took a health class in 2002, where this strain of TB was discussed as co-infecting those who suffered from AIDS as their immune systems were shot. The text also stated that it was spreading in all countries were the AIDS epidemic was found. Not surprisingly, this was not discussed in the current news report. Yet, the homeless were being targeted.

Let us pray for the homeless.
