I just received this email from a friend of mine about the present condition of Frank Schaeffer. How sad if it is really that big a fall. Besides the quote my friend posted below, I want to add this shocking quote by Schaeffer made about a year ago at a Nebraska Protestant Church:
Frank Schaeffer’s solution to the supposed pitfalls of faith evidently is to believe nothing at all. He told an audience at Countryside Community Church in Omaha, Nebraska on January 26, 2012 that “what matters is not belief, because you can never believe correctly because life is not long enough to know anything ... but what you can do is work on the content of your own character given the journey you’ve got.”

Frank Schaeffer … Good grief I used to idolize this guy for his smash mouth honesty and his early post-conversion apologetic works (videos and books) regarding introducing Orthodoxy to Evangelicals.
From what he says in this recent article, it is obvious that his descent into relativism is now complete. It is almost shocking to see and hear what he has become.
For example, he says now …
“I still go to a Greek Orthodox church not because I’m Greek Orthodox … I just happen to like Byzantine liturgies because it’s mostly in Greek so I can’t understand them. It’s good because it’s the words that bother me.”
Unreal!
You know he once said in one of his early (truly Orthodox) books that he hoped nobody held him up as an example because he still had time to undo any good he might be doing. How prophetic!
Here is a link to the whole sorry article.

I don't know whether to be disgusted or sad. Maybe both. How his parish priest continues to commune him is beyond the pale. Frank probably is a big financial donor, that is my guess.
His priest and the Greek Arch-Diocese in general should be held to account for this disgrace.
