Prime Minister call me 'Dave' Cameron is proposing Parliament allowing so-called homosexual marriage in places of worship, in a turnaround from previous policy. It proposed to bring legislation as early as next week. He is seeking to reassure those who are alarmed by this with assurances that no church, mosque or synagogue would be forced to carry out such 'weddings'. However in the of European equality laws and the tendency of a persistent minority to push against boundaries I doubt his reassurance is meaningful but rather a weak attempt to quieten dissent. And in his own party there is considerable dissent, but Labour and the Liberal Democrats are likely to fully embrace the proposal.
I have written accordingly to my local MP, a Moslem.
