Quo Vadis, Brother Nathaniel ?

I noticed today that Nathaniel Kapner's Church News website has been shut down. Does anyone know what has happened to our erstwhile street evangelista and his busy corner of the blogoshpere? During the past few months he had ceased featuring any news or comments by former KGB Lt. Col Konstantin Preobrazhensky, and had abruptly shifted 180 degrees from his previous traditional ecclesiology to vigorously support the Moscow Patriarchate and the Putin regime. Now he seems to have disappeared into thin air after reporting that he was taking a "vacation" two weeks ago. Is he, perhaps, recuperating from a case of perestroika at Lubyanka?

I don't know anything about his web-site but there is news:
Brother Nathaniel shot in the face with air-pistol.
Brother Nathanael shot in Colorado!
Also, he had previously mentioned retaining a lawyer because he was being forced to vacate his favourite preaching spot for 'traffic safety reasons'.
His "Real Jew News" site is still up, f.w.i.w.

    Something is rotten in Denmark.  I checked out your links and the pellet gun incident happened in Silverthorne, Colorado last January.  Meanwhile, Kapner has continued to blog on his "Real Jew News" site as recently as September 4, 2008.  Why the abrupt pro-MP shift, and then the equally abrupt closure of the "Church News?"  One can only wonder if something other than a pellet gun was pointed at Kapner's head this year, like a Kalashnikov rifle for instance??

Ah yes, you are right. I Googled his name and that's what came up. I hadn't heard the story and didn't notice the date when I read it, (It was January 2007).
Back to the drawingboard.
He did have a lawsuit going on, he was always complaining on that blog that no one was donating and that he would have to shut it down. Perhaps it finally happened.
If he was pro-Putin why would he be facing the Kalashnikovs? They would love their own would they not? I would be more worried of him facing the Uzis.

   Who knows?  I only wonder if he became more supportive of Mr. Putin and the MP [i]after [/i]a Kalashnikov was pointed at his head.  My theory is that he closed the site after he realized that the neo- Soviet approach to Orthodoxy and expose journalism was not very satisfying, spiritually or intellectually.  How many glowing photos and tributes to Vladimir Putin can a blogo-meister publish before he starts to feel a little uneasy, or perhaps even queasy?
