Y want to begin a new topic.Do enybody knows the reason of staying people belevers of pseudo-ortodox churces in that kind of organization if they know the truth? :shock:

Good question! Either they don't know the truth, or they love something else more than the truth. Or both.

Some who don't know the truth don't want to know the truth. Sometimes people can be very good at fooling themselves. Maybe they have too much pride to admit they are wrong. Maybe they are afraid of something. Some priests stay in World Orthodoxy for fear they would lose their parishes (and they would lose them). Some feel obligated to the World Orthodox people who brought them into the Faith or helped them in other ways. Some are hoping things will get better, or at least not get worse. Many are told and tell themselves to "stay out of politics" and to be obedient and to concentrate on their own sins. Two men with young families I know stay in it because there is nowhere else to take the family, and their wives are weak in the Faith. Evil suggestions from demons encourage people to stay in World Orthodoxy.

This darkness has been allowed by God. Keep praying for those people who might escape.

I've come across another reason: The lack of "spiritual freedom". They "feel a greater need to feel safe in the right party". They can't accept that their ruling hierarch could be wrong. It is too scary.

For many (or most) it is because they do not love God or Orthodoxy enough to even care. These people appear very religious, but they are not true Christians.

My Response: Who are they? How many "true" ROCOR groups are out there now? What authority do the admininstrators have to decide these issues? I thought ROCOR-Stephan was the valid continuation. No, maybe it was ROCOR-V? Or ROCIE? Or was that Gregory of Colorado who claims to be the only true bishop of ROCOR left? Or perhaps it was ROCOR-Agafangel?

Orthodoxy is not a religious free-for-all like evangelicaism and protestantism.

What are Russians going to do when they run out of letters in the alphabet?

Orthodoxy is becoming too subjective. No body knows with certainty where the Orthodox Church is. I can ask two people where the Orthodox Church is, and walk a way with two different answers. I can ask two ROCOR people where the church is, and walk away with two different answers. Come on people! Can't you see there's something seriously wrong with this picture? I submit these sectarian groups with all their silly labels, is not the legacy Christ left the world. There is "ONE HOLY CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC CHURCH." It is real, historical, and easy for anyone to find.

So why do you keep asking everybody where It is? We all know where It is. Why are you so confused?

I can ask two people where the Orthodox Church is, and walk a way with two different answers.

Put all the answers together and you'll get the whole picture. The Orthodox Church is the ONE HOLY CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC CHURCH.

The "valid continuation of ROCOR" is one subject. Where the true Church is - that is another subject. That's too much for me (see, maybe, THE CHURCH IS ONE http://www.geocities.com/trvalentine/or ... s_one.html)

ROCOR-PSCA is what was left after May 17, 2007, and what continued the original ROCOR path. Those that left prior to May 17, 2007 did not continue the original ROCOR. That's all.

If this is going to be another one of those discussions that ends up being about who has grace and who does not, then I guess I'd better leave now. But can't we continue the original question, which to me is important?
