Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. (Ps. 50)

Where did you hear that? I assure you that he would never accept the world Orthodox view. If there were new calendarists that came to him and had Holy Communion, is because they left their way of life and accepted the truth.

Father Seraphim was of course with ROCA an old calendar church, but he believed the MP had grace.

From "Father Seraphim Rose: His Life and Works," by Father Damascene, page 650.

"Fr. Seraphim valued the Catacomb Church as a continuation of the confessing stand of the first hierarchs martyred under Communism: a stand, which, avoiding sectarianism and fanaticism, did not cease to regard the Moscow Patriarchate as a part of the Orthodox Church."

As Father Seraphim pointed out in an article: "Metropolitan Cyril of Kazan and other leading hierarches of the Catacomb Church have regarded it as blasphemy to deny that the sacraments of the Moscow Patriarchate are grace-filled."

"...In the Moscow Patriarchate there have been betrayer bishops...But in the same Moscow Patrarchate there is an increasing number of priests...who do not participate in this betrayal." [Father Seraphim].

I believe Father Seraphim's views are perhaps responsible for where Saint Herman's Monastery is today, in terms of their union with the Serbs and ordinations from Moscow.

Did Fr. Damascene ever meet Fr. Seraphim? How long did he know him? Doesn't his information come from Fr. Herman who had reason for justifing his shifting allegiance?

This is only believable for those who haven't read the writings of said confessing hierarchs.

This is only believable for those who haven't read the last epistle of Metropolitan Cyril. In his earlier epistles he was giving the new MP the benefit of the doubt because he didn't have enough reliable information. You will recall he was in prison and hadn't met with Met. Sergius yet.

After the apostasy has taken place what does it matter if a few priests start doing the right thing, but remain in communion with the apostasy? A priest only serves with the permission of his bishop. If the bishop has no grace than the priest must find a true bishop.

Or perhaps the published version of Fr. Seraphim's "views" reflects how the surviving leader[s] was justifying his seperation from ROCOR and his move to the MP and Serbs.
