Prayers for us this Sunday.

Post by Sean »

I would like to ask for prayers for myself and my bride-to-be Anastasia, as we are to be wed this Sunday and will begin our new life together.

Some people prefer cupcakes. I, for one, care less for them...

Both of you are in my unworthy prayers. I wish you and Anastasia a good life together and a marriage always under the protection of God.

Thank you all very much for your prayers and words of support. We were wed yesterday morning. The service and the reception were beautiful. HOCNA has recently revived the ancient practice of having a liturgical wedding, which fell out of practice around 200 years ago. Our's was a liturgical wedding, and I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to marry such a wonderful Orthodox woman.

If you have pictures we would love to see them. Can you define "Liturgical Wedding?" I was under the impression that all marriages in the Church were Liturgical Weddings.

A liturgical wedding is when there is no seperate wedding service, but it is integrated into the Liturgy. The betrothal takes place before the hours are read, the bride and groom are the first to commune, and the Dance of Isaiah is done after communion.

I haven't figured out how to post an image onto the forum. I've seen that other people can do it. Please tell me how, and I will be happy to post some pictures for you.
