Frightening.
Reminds one of a Stalinist show trial.
I was going to say something to someone about corresponding with Lavrites but decided not to, to mind my own business and just pray for their salvation.
Now though I think I will.
Things from MPOR get more demonic all the time.
St Philerat pray to God for us!

You need Quicktime, which can be downloaded for free at:

The video of Bishop Daniel is also available in Russian here:
http://www.russianorthodoxchurch.ws/syn ... el_rus.mov
I watched the English one first since I don't know Russian and his voice seemed a bit nervous and shaky.
In the Russian one though he seems to be much more comfortable and his voice is steady, so I think shakiness in his voice in the English version was just because of the English and not because of the content matter.
I watched both, and didn't find the Russian version any more convincing than the English one. If anything, it seemed worse to me. You really shouldn't have to pause and stutter like that when you are telling your own story in your native language.
I don't claim to know what is really going on, but I do understand that the document establishing the new higher authority is consistent with Bp Daniel's pre-sobor position.
This video and the disaffirmation of that document seem inconsistent.
I also have a problem with the logic of the ROCOR-MP, where they claim that Bishop Daniel didn't write the document establishing the new higher authority as some sort of "proof" that it was a trick or a mistake, and then show this video of a statement Bp. Daniel also obviously did not write but consented to read, because if he had written it himself, he would not have had so much trouble reading it himself and he wouldn't have stumbled over the pronounciation of words like a schoolchild sounding out vocabulary words.
It doesn't make much sense to me, and the only conclusion I can draw is that something is wrong here.
Not being familiar with Bp Daniel personally or knowing anything about his current or former condition, it might be that he is easily bullied at this point. On the other hand, that could simply be an impression that those who are against the new higher authority would like to create in order to argue against its validity.
As always, we will simply have to put our trust in God Himself and stay aware and astute to what is God's will and what is the work of the powers and principalities around us.
Let us pray for discernment and for what is in the best interest of God's Holy Church.

I'm not making any statement as to what is going on, but I would like to point out another consideration. In the video Bishop Daniel states something along the lines of: because he has always strove to bring unity between the Old Believers and between the Old Believers and ROCOR, he is not interested in taking part in establishing new 'breaks'. It seems to me that this statement is also consistent with Bishop Daniel's life's work. But then again, it's all speculation. No-one will really know the truth unless they are close enough to Bishop Daniel to know what's really going on.
Bp. Daniel also obviously did not write but consented to read, because if he had written it himself, he would not have had so much trouble reading it himself and he wouldn't have stumbled over the pronounciation of words like a schoolchild sounding out vocabulary words.
Another point for consideration: It has been stated many times that Bishop Daniel is ill. We don't know what illness's he has and how they affect him. For example, Metropolitan Laurus had a brain tumour many years ago and I'm pretty sure that he's had that removed. Whether he has or hasn't, it has obviously affected his speech and perhaps some other functions. If you hear M.Laurus speak it is almost incomprehensible. We don't know if a similar thing has happened with Bishop Daniel - he could have had a previous stroke or something else that could have affected his speech. Again, I'm not saying that this is what is happening, but if we are going to analyse the situation let's take all angles into consideration, and even then it's only speculation.
