   I just got home and listened to a voice mail from Bishop ANDREI, and he let me know that both Saint Athanasios Church and the connected Rectory belonging to Father Elias Greer, where he, his son, and mother live has been completely burned to the ground. They have lost everything that they own along with a parishioner, Stephanie that lived in the home next to them. From what I can tell, no one was physically hurt, but everyone has lost everything that they own. I ask that you pray for them all at this very trying time. Bishop ANDREI has also asked that is anyone would like to make contributions to them, to do so through the donate link at http://ROACusa.org and mark it as funds for Saint Athanasios Church.

A STATEMENT FROM BISHOP ANDREI OF PAVLOVSKOYE,
ADMINISTRATOR OF THE ROAC OF AMERICA
ON THE FIRE THAT DESTROYED THE SAINT ATHANASIOS CHURCH
AND RECTOR'S OFFICE (OR RECTORY)

On Monday, 2/15 January, Father Elias Greer, rector of Saint Athanasios Orthodox Parish in San Angelo, while working in his office, which, together with the church, was located in the home of a parishioner, noticed smoke and called the fire department. The fire department found an electrical fire in its beginning stages developing in the attic. The power to the house was turned off and the firemen doused the area around the electrical short. Power could not be restored until the house was rewired, and everyone was required to leave the premises. When Father returned in the morning to check on the house, he found that the fire, which apparently had not been completely extinguished the night before, had rekindled and had completely destroyed the part of the house where his office had been. The rest if the house sustained a great deal of smoke and water damage as the fire department struggled to fight the fire, in effect, destroying the entire house.

This is a great tragedy for our little community in San Angelo. Most of Father's personal belongings were destroyed in the fire. The parishioners have no place to do services. The lady who owns the house has incurred a great deal of financial loss as well. If there are any good souls who would like to help these people in their time of need, we are accepting donations on their behalf. May God richly reward any of you who respond to this call! "When I was hungry, ye fed Me..."
