New GOC/HOTCA Church in Upstate New York

Dear Christians,

It is with great joy that I announce the reception of a new priest and a new parish into the Holy Metropolis of the Genuine Greek Orthodox Church of North and South America. With the blessings of His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostomos of Athens and His Eminence Metropolitan Pavlos of America Fr. Thomas Maretta has been received through canonical release from the omophorion of Metropolitan Laurus, President of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. Fr. Thomas comes to us from the Russian Orthodox Parish of St. Nicholas in Endicott, NY. His new parish will be at the Church of St. Maximos the Confessor in Owego, NY.

The construction of the building that the Parish of St. Maximos will be housed in has only recently been completed. It is a stunningly beautiful edifice. It is made completely out of stone, marble, and terra cotta. I have added some pictures for you all to see. NOTE: The photos were taken when the church was only half built and before any of the iconography was installed.
