Brother Nathaniel

Post by ANGELA »

I would like to know a little about Brother Nathaniel. I have read his church news. I still don't understand what's going on as I am Greek Orthodox and know that something big is happenning in December in Russia.

Can anyone please fill me in in simple terms and also is Brother Nathaniel doing the right thing? I know he preaches about Christ in the streets which is a good thing. Sorry I don't mean to offend anyone, as I know his been banned from this site, but I would just like to know whether I'm doing the right thing by reading his church news bulletin.

Many thanks
God Bless+++

I like Nathaniel but the fact remains he is being used by the renovationist heretic John Rigas to stir up a schism in the Florinite branch of the Greek Orthodox Church in America. Nathaniel himself is a modernist having had his "Orthodox" formation in OCA, Holy Transfiguration Monastery in Boston and even worse Dormition Skete under "Patriarch" Gregory of Colorado. Before he starts preaching the Faith to others he should first examine whether he himself is in it or not.

Avoiding any comment on the subject, I just want to say that I have never understood the word "formation". If this word from the Latin lexicon means what I think it means, then I would just say our whole lives are our "formation". If "formation" is received like an indelible mark, then I doubt I would ever had made it to the Orthodox Church from new-calendarism.

True- but everything we do and see does leave a mark however small. That is one the reasons we need repentence. To "get things out of us" we need time to be be quiet, think, pray, fast and read.

That is why in the Orthodox Church converts are not allowed to become Bishops according to the canons.

Again I honestly really like Nathanael, I just believe he needs to "step back" a bit.
