there are prayers that the Orthodox have kept close and some that the roman catholic church have kept close to them,..
does the Orthodox Church forbid the usage of prayers from the roman catholic church in private prayers?
and what do most people on here use as morning and evening prayers..
I was told that if I was having a hard time with so many prayers, that I should try using the Psalter for prayer of morning and evening.......

You should ask your priest, he may give you an abbreviated rule until you can handle a complete morning and evening prayer rule. You should not use other church's prayers unless he gives you a blessing to do so.
