Dear New Friends:
An old friend of mine is making an illuminated parchment scroll to accompany an Icon. There is a prayer in Russian from the Icon that she is adding to the scroll. She would like to include an English translation of the prayer but doesn't know a word of Russian.
Is there anyone out there who would be willing to translate the prayer for her?
We are part of a group of calligraphers, scribes, and illuminators here in the USA which is part of a worldwide group called the Society of Creative Anachronism (SCA). We do restoration work, and also produce original works of inscription and illumination. In addition, many of us use the love and dedication we have for the scribal arts to pen historically-acurate illuminated books and documents, as well as create Icons in honor of the Holy Trinity and our precious Holy Mother Mary.
Please be aware that because SCA is a registered society that prides itself on the upmost accuracy, you may be asked to verify your credentials, i.e., "I am Fr.***, of the **** Order, and presently priest at the **** Church in *****."
GOD bless you all for reading this lengthy post! Any help and/or guidance would be tremendously appreciated.
You all are in my prayers,
Anna
