Born Eugene Dennis Rose august 13,1934 in southern california.
as the third child he lived a life as most of us, until he found the Holy Orthodox Church of the Russian church Abroad in Seaside california and later The Russian Cathedral on Geary in S.f...He was blessed by St.John Maximovitch of Shanghai and San Francisco to persue a Life in the Church with his Friend Gleb(later Fr Herman). in October 1/14 1970 on the feast of the Protection of The THEOTOKOS he was Tonsured a monk and took the name Seraphim, weeks later he was made a Heiro-monk.....he did alot for the American Converts to the Russian Church Abroad, unfortunately the evil one played a big part in trying to start controversy about Fr.Seraphim Rose,But God`s providence prevailed and he and Fr.Herman opened a Skete in Platina California dedicated to St.Herman of Alaska.....on September 2nd of 1982 Father Seraphim died in a local hospital after a brief illness and several days in the emergency room,he had apparently been rotting inside for years and never showed a sign of pain or discomfort..his main purpose at that time was to spiritually guide those coming to him and Fr.Herman for guidance and for his own salvation, the pain he must have been feeling was being taken care of by God,until His will decided to bring him Home...may You be remembered eternally here on earth Blessed Fr.Seraphim Rose s.......Spyridon in Christ

Hello to the forum....This is my first post as a new member.
Thank you so much for posting about Blessed Father Seraphim! I would like to invite any of ya'll who have had wonderous events take place in their life because of encountering Bl. Father Serpaphim or his works to share with the forum. Last year, my wife and I visited the Brotherhood at Platina and were there for the anniversary of his repose. It was a wonderful service and spending time at Platina praying at Bl. Father Seraphim's grave and asking him to pray for us literally changed our life. The example of his struggle and the fruits of his work has brought strength to my family's life.
Glory to God for all things
