greetings everyone,
this is going to be an extensive writing here. i thank you all in advance for the patience to read the entire discourse =]
introduction
my name is fedya (chrism name: theodoros, legal name: derek). i'm a part of the CHURCH (i'm not going to get into jurisdictional battles here... for the sake of simplicity and such, i'm a part of the CHURCH, sinful as i am). i recently graduated from the college of william and mary in williamsburg, va and now living with my parents in herndon, waiting to get my own life started.
the point
i would like to make a film about repentance (or as i would like to call it, a cinematic ikon) entitled omvendelsen [danish for repentance]. the film itself will be shot in a particular style called dogme95 where the emphasis is on acting and characters and less on superficiality (i.e. makeup, elaborate cinematography, etc.). what i have are characters and basic plotline which i will explain below:
- central character [tentative name: malusha] has a life devoid/minimal of GOD and over the course of the film will have her life change
- the physical [female] - one of her friends who lives carnally
- the intellectual [male] - one of her friends who lives according to the intellect (emperical thinker, philosopher, rationalist, anti-spiritual)
- the spiritual [male] - one of her friends who lives spiritually
basically the first/three act shows her life where she is more physical and intellectual than spiritual (even though she is good friends with all of them). the second act shows the breakdown of her lifestyle, i.e. the limits of following her friend's lead. the third act shows the rebuilding of her life through spiritual means.
i know that the physical and the intellectual life is and can be broken down into nothing. the question is that i don't know all the possible details. so what i'm asking for are situations where the physical and intellectual life breaks down involving these characters.
if you have any questions about this, i'll be glad to elaborate further on it.
thank you again...
with love and grave humility, fedya
