The most amazing things in the documents is this:

1.) That the ROCOR-L has invalidated all the statements by the ROCOR synod or any of its hierarchs ever questioning or denying the grace of validitiy of the MP's hierarchy or grace!

2.) That essentially they told the Cyprianites to join the Greek State Church and since they have not, they will be officially breaking communion before they unite with the MP, although essentially they consider that broken!

3.) Sergius should not be looked on badly because of his declaration and his heresy of Sergeinism, which they now invalidate as being a heresy!

Easy to make judgements when

a) you don't have all the facts,

and

b) you are no longer a member

And Believe me, you and I don't HAVE all the facts.....

I for one know I don't have all the facts. I am sure of this because I am also sure that there will come a time when even these documents will need to be "placed in a new context" of yet another, "you don't understand".

The touchstone of all of this text can be found in one idea, and it is hard to miss its stench - its the idea that the Cyprianites should "normalize" relations with the State Church of Greece.

Exactly why should they do this? I really want to know. This would almost be comical if it were not so tragic. Has something changed with everything the Cyprianites have been saying over the years that would warrant a “reconsideration”? Such an inappropriate question in fact does not raise the subject of whether the Cyprians should “normalize” anything, it really only raise doubts if the ROCOR ever understood who they were, or if they did, what kind of people have such shallow convictions as to skip into and out of communion so easily, with a smirk and a “see ya fellas, you should try this”.

It is just incredible.

Ecumenism

Post by Jean-Serge »

The text about ecumenism is in entire contradiction with former ROCOR's position... Nothing about the anathema against those who think the church is divided in branches. I am disappointed...
