50TH BIRTHDAY OF ARCHBISHOP THEODORE OF BORISOVSKOE AND OTRADNOYE
(Suzdal Diocesan Herald - Vertograd : Suzdal)
Archbishop Theodore of Borisovskoe and Otradnoye, administrator of the Hierarchical Synod of the ROAC, was congratulated on his 50th birthday by the faithful of the Russian Church. The vast majority of the Orthodox in Suzdal know Archbishop Theodore from long ago (he has been serving in Suzdal since 1973). The Hierarch has the deserved reputation of a true pastor, a man of prayer, and one with wonderful knowledge of the Divine Services and the regulations and traditions of Orthodoxy, and a good-hearted person.
After the end of Lenten Divine Services in The Tsar-Constantine Cathedral congratulations were offered to the celebrant by His Emenince, Metropolitan Valentine of Suzdal, First Hierarch of the ROAC. Vladika Metropolitan noted the tireless and jealous preservation of the splendour, sedateness and propriety of Church services, on the the pastorship of souls, on his work directed toward the unity and cohesion of the True Orthodox Christian community of Suzdal. "In the same manner in which unbelieving people put all their force and work into this mundane, vain life, Vladika Theodore's entire person is devoted to his duty to the Church and the Church's Divine Services. This jealousy for the services that was carried from childhood itself is hitherto an example for all of us", said Vladika Valentine.
After this, the celebrant's clergy offered their congratulations in the person of the Dean for the Suzdal region, Archpriest Arkady Makovetsky. From the Town council Deputies, the Most Reverend Theodore was congratulated by Deputy Kitayeva. As well, several warm expressions of congratulations were expressed by the gathering parishioners. Then the celebrant thanked all and invited those gathered to a modest meal.

On March 27, during the 2nd Week of Great Lent, with the blessing of Metropolitan Valentine of Suzdal and Vladimir, a cross was placed on the cupola of the belfry of St Simeon Church in the village of Omutskoe in the Suzdal region. The three-altared Temple belongs to the ROAC community since 1993, and restoration work is performed by the Suzdal Diocese.
The Temple rector, Hegumen Theofan (Areskin) served a special molieben for the newly blessed dome cross and spoke a brief word to those assembled.
ORDINATION OF NEW PRIEST FOR ROAC COMMUNITY IN BULGARIA
(Suzdal Diocesan Herald - Vertograd : Suzdal)
The ordination to the Diaconate of Georgy Marinuv, a ROAC layman from Bulgaria, was performed on April 2 in the Tsar-Constantine Cathedral in Suzdal by Metropolitan Valentine of Suzdal and Vladimir. The next day Metropolitan Valentine ordained Deacon Georgy to the priesthood.
After his return to Bulgaria, Fr. Georgy intends to establish a parish about 15 km from Sofia, in the city of Yelin Pelin, where there is available land, and can currently carry out services in the house temple of one of his parishioners. Fr Georgy Marinuv was born in 1982 in Sofia. In 2004, he was christened in ROAC by Archpriest Lyudmil Petrov. In 2005, Fr. Georgy together with the priests Fr Radoslav Ivanov and Fr Stephan Vasiliev offered their obedience to the Hierarchical Synod of ROAC, after refusing to follow the schism of Bishop Gregory of Denver. Fr. Georgy is trained in both Byzantine and Russian iconography, and is gratuating from the theological department of Sofia University.
