In this chapter Stavrophila is kept from sinning by the sorrow of the Cross, and her Angel talks to her about how the Cross keeps us from sinning.
Angel ... What is unpleasant to the flesh is a cure for the soul. ...
The Angel then refers to King Asa who was diseased in the feet till he died, but he did not seek the Lord. This reminds me of the Revealtion of John where God afflicts the people of the world and they will not repent, but curse God.
When sorrow of any kind come to us, we need to flee to God. Otherwise we to will be included with those that curse God rather than repent. Lord have mercy on me!
