Is ROAC in communion with ROCOR? Are the two the same church?

No, ROAC is different and seperate from ROCOR. They are a part of the Free Russian Orthodox Church that has now come abroad from what I understand. But they also see HOCNA & ROCiE as in schism for seperating from ROCOR. ROAC's monasteries do put out some great reading material & icons however. :D

I wasn't aware that this forum would be allowed to serve as a platform for schismatics who spew nonsense against the Russian Church Abroad. Any chance of deleting this thread before somone visits one of these parishes?

Let me know if I'm being out of line, what the rules are for posting, etc....as I'm new here.

Peter,

I cannot speak for the other moderator or the owner, but for my part, I try to take a hands-off approach to things. If something is obviously blasphemous, or crude, or if it gets to the point where the board is just being used to attempt converting people to another group or religion, then I'd step in. If just information is being posted though, even if I disagree with the content of that information, I let it be. I don't have the maturity (as an experienced priest might) to pick and choose what people should and shouldn't read, so I leave it for them to check things out and discuss it with their priest before they go making decisions such as going to a ROAC Church. They would get quite a response if they asked for a blessing to attend a ROAC Church, after all! ;)

I don't particularly like lists of parishes/convents being posted for groups not in communion with the traditionalist churches. And, if everyone started doing this actions would have to be taken to curb it. For now though, I'd like to just sit and let things be, if it isn't too much of a problem with others (ie. if others aren't scandalised). If it is a big problem, please PM me.

Justin

Fair enough....I understand where you're coming from.
But can I at least make bad jokes about how lucky we are to have the "pearl of great price" being dutifully preserved by 7(yes, an entire 7!) churches and monasteries. The last 7 pillars of True Orthodoxy, holding the only grace filled sacraments in the world. Their jurisdiction is comprised of what, a couple hundred people(they grabbed some folks in Russia now too, right?). And as far as I know, they deny the sacraments of all other Orthodox bodies...if not an explicit denial, it's certainly inferred. That being the case, there are only a few hundred Orthodox Christians left in the world? We all know the flock will be small in the last days...but might that be pushing it a bit, no?
