Last night my five year old brother, Daniel, was flown to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh via helicoptor because of an accident he was in yesterday. His leg got caught, and he was pulled under, a riding lawn mower. The front leg bone (fibia?) had a huge hunk taken out of it (with a moderately deep gash about 5-6 inches long on his leg), but the main damage was in his foot. I'll spare everyone the gruesome details, and will only say that it was hacked up pretty bad, and that he's already lost all his toes, and has a 50/50 chance of losing his entire foot below the ankle. He's been a real trooper through all this--far better than I could have ever dreamed of doing in his situation--but I still ask you all if you could keep him in your prayers.
After the surgery, when he first woke up, his first words were "thank you for the helicopter ride" It was so precious; considering how mangled his foot had been and his other injuries, it was enough to make the nurse attending to him cry!

PS. The doctors are taking him back into surgery on Friday night or Saturday, and they will know better then what will be happening.
