Monasticism

Post by romiosini »

I heard recently that Monasticism is limited to a certain minimum age of 30. Does that mean that a man or a woman cannot become a Monk/Nun and enter the monastic life at 18, 17, or in the 20s?

Canonically I believe the minimum age to become a monk is 14, to become a priest is 30 and to become a bishop is 35.

I know several Rassaphore Monks in their 20's.

Some people prefer cupcakes. I, for one, care less for them...
