The existence of ROAC

Post by Nektarios14 »

This came up from a thread on the "infamous" other board...

Why did Metr. Valentine leave the ROCOR (and don't get into the semantics game that ROCOR left him etc.)?

I had previously thought it was over ROCOR's communion with Metr. Cyprian, but now I am somewhat confused over the issue. Also a lot of the information on the ROAC in English came through the website of (former?) Archbishop Gregory, so I am guessing it may not be 100% accurate compared to the version of ROAC's history that the rest of ROAC professes.

Thanks,

Nektarios

That's correct. They did not form the THCA because of Cyprian; however, the Russian Bishops were against it, as were other members of the ROCOR Synod at the time. They were applying Ukaze 362 within the borders of Russia so that the administration of the FROC would not be destroyed.

If it's any help, here's what Vladimir Moss had to say about the issue.
