The Pope set up his own 'Patriarch in Jerusalem' but this 'Patriarch' is totally subservient to the Pope of Rome.

The Latins let the other titular Latin patriarchates of Orthodox sees die out. They kept Jerusalem since there are actually RC's there.

Well there is a Coptic Catholic Patriarchate of Alexandria, but that isn't a Latin Patriarch. However, a Coptic Catholic Bishop is still totally subject to the Roman Pontiff. There is also a Melkite Catholic Patriarchate of Antioch, as well as a Maronite Catholic Patriarchate of Antioch. However, the only Rome and Jerusalem have Latin Patriarchates. But all of the 5 original Sees, except Constantinople, have Catholic Patriarchates.

Ben,

There used to be Latin Rite "titular" patriarchates for each major corresponding Orthodox see in addition to the Eastern Catholic patriarchates. Only the Latin patriarchate of Jerusalem was kept because of the large number of Latin Catholics who live there.
