I was told recently the ROAC does not recognize the cannonization of St. Nicholas of Japan because he was glorified after things started getting fishy in ROCOR. Can someone explain this?
Thanks!

Sorry I took so long to respond Ania! I have a devotion to him and in ROCOR was named after him even. ROAC is investigating the cause of his beatification but in doing so, they found that the usual conditions for beatification were not done by ROCOR and it seems that many said it was done because the MP had glorified him. I will update you when I hear more from the long process of investigation in ROAC.

Well Ania, I found out something very sad. The synod has always accepted him as a saint, but then-bishop Gregory had lied to me. I am glad that I learned the truth as now I am able to commemorate him during the All-Night Vigil and bring his icon to the church on hsi feast day.
Saint Nicholas of Japan pray to God for us!

SAINTS INNOCENT AND NICHOLAS
SAINT INNOCENT of MOSCOW AND SAINT NICHOLAS OF JAPAN
I just now read the materiel regarding Saint Nicholas of Japan, and Saint Innocent.
The following is a TRUE account of a miracle – performed on me at Their Glorification at Saint John the Baptist Cathedral in Mayfield Pennsylvania. The Rector and others are well aware of this miracle.
When I lived in Mayfield, I was responsible for cleaning the Cathedral. On the Friday prior to the Glorification, after Vespers, very late (actually, early Saturday morning) as I was cleaning I had an accident.
I was on the soleas, vacuuming, and stepped down onto what should have been a step, but was, in fact – air.
I severely twisted my leg/knee and immediately knew I was in trouble…it was about 2:00am. I picked myself up and sat down…then the pain started.
Anyone who has ever played any sport and has twisted/sprained a leg/knee knows what happens next. First, and foremost, is excruciating pain, then after a few hours comes the discoloration; black, blue, yellow, an other assorted colors.; then about a week to two of crutches and the like.
I made it home about 2:30 or 3:00; I lived less than a minute away from the Cathedral. My wife wanted to take me to the emergency room as my leg was very bad. I said, “No. I have had these before and it just takes time and live with the pain.”
The next morning, rather in a few hours, I was at the Cathedral setting up inside for Liturgy. I had crutches and the leg was terribly swollen, hurt and discolored-all normal for this injury. I made it through the day and then cleaned again after the Vigil at which Vladyka Hilarion anointed over 1500 people.
While I was cleaning, I said this prayer to Saints Innocent and Nicholas,
“Saints Innocent and Nicholas…please, just allow me to receive the Mysteries tomorrow at Liturgy, and, help me.”
I awoke the next day, and EVERYTHING was gone!
NO pain!
NO discoloration!
NO swelling!
NOTHING!
My leg was just as clear, same color, as the other and ABSOLUTELY NO PAIN!
This is a TRUE account, and was possibly the first miracle performed by Them after Their Glorification.
