"Schismatic" Priests Return to ROCOR?

Post by Justin Kissel »

From a summary of The Spring Session of the Synod of Bishops of ROCOR:

The main questions on the agenda were: the situation in the Chicago Diocese relating to the injury of the ruling bishop, His Eminence Archbishop Alypy; the question of assisting in the administration of the Western European Diocese in connection with the state of health of His Grace Bishop Ambroise; the return from schism of several repentant clergymen and their reception, and the plan for the creation of a new official website for the Synod of Bishops. (Emphasis mine)

Does anyone know which group(s) these "schismatic" clergy are coming from?

Why ROAC and not, for example, ROCiE?

This refers to a meeting in 2002 (it says so clearly on the page you have linked) and it concerned a number of Western European clergy who left with the then Bishop Varnava of Cannes into ROCiE. They returned to ROCOR and are still there today.

Heh, I was right without reading the linked page.

I apologize for asking the question when the answer was on the same page. I post while at the public library, so oftentimes if something catches my attention I'll post asking a question about it without having read an entire document (but having only skimmed it). In other words, I rush and try to get as much in as I can. Thus, my dumb comment about Al Green being inconsistent the other day. Thus also my asking a question when the answer was in the same document. I did not realise that the answer was there until I had gotten home and read the entire thing though (I save things to disk so I can read them later). There's also the problem that I don't get to the library every day (or it might be closed), so my responses (or apologies :) ) might be late in coming. So, again, I apologize for having started this thread. I'll be more careful in the future about posting in such a rash manner.
