Old Calendarists in Communion with the EP switch Calendars??

Post by 尼古拉前执事 »

I was just speaking with Anastasios and he regularly visit's St. Irene's on of the Old Calendarist Churches that left the GOS to join the EP. Well, evidently, last week they changed to the new Calendar. What makes them different from the GOA now? I wonder if they did this on their own of Pat. Bartholomew made them switch to it? Does anyone know anything more about this?

I remember when Anasasios mentioned he visited this place and decribed finally visiting an "Old Calendarist" church. I also remember mentioning that he still had not visited one.

Now I am remembering Nevskis post about the "need to be right"...

Ephraimite Example

Post by Bogatyr »

:ohvey: This is the ephraimite, resistance from within, example they are following. Can this be compromise? I thought it was evident when their "kheirotonias" were repeated by ep bishops. These are the same people who accept heterodox baptisms, but now find it necessary to question the apostolic succession of ROCOR. This is the "tolerance and plan for reintergration of old calendarists" by the phanar: seduce, silence and coopt. Nothing has changed. ANAXIOS!

EP old calendarists now new calendarists?

Post by mwoerl »

ah, yes! "with paisios, all things are possible!"

this guy has been around the block once or twice. synod of archbishop chrysostomos II of athens, jp, back to archbishop chrysostomos, then one of the founding bishops of the lamia synod, then to the EP! ah well, this IS the age of diversity now aint it?

has anyone ever seen his newspaper, "voice of orthodoxy"? is it at all possible to be more disgustingly sycophantic and bootlicking to the EP than that rag is? it is SOOOOOOOOOOO bad-remember the disgusting soviet propaganda about stalin-all the outlandish goofy names and titles they gave him-and then the endless praises about how great he was and all the swell things he could and did do? well, just delete "Generalissimo Stalin" and replace it with "His All Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew," and you sorta get the drift . . . and, hey-where did this "Generalissimo" bit come from anyways? sho dont sound russian to me . . .

+paisios

One of the Grabbe's, the one who stole the academy from Synod, is one of +Paisios' Bishops. It really is strange, because he really did want to be a Bishop in communion with ROCOR for a time. That may have settled him down, maybe not.

bishop antomy grabbe

Bishop Gregory Grabbe's son, Antony, who was relieved of his duties as head of the Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem and subsequently defrocked by the ROCOR, supposedly for various offenses, indeed went on to the Greek Old Calendarists. He was consecrated a Bishop (I do not know if Antony Grabbe was consecrated by the Synod of Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Athens, which Paisios belonged to at one time, or by another of the subsequent groups that Paisios attached himself to in his pre-EP days). He was aligned in the US with Paisios, but departed from that group after Pasisios decided that the EP was the place to be.

After the leaving Paisios, I believe Antony Grabbe was "on his own" for some time; after the beginnings of ROCiE, (I think I have this right . . . ) father Vladimir Shishkoff of the ROCOR ended up joining ROAC under Metroplitan Valentin; Fr Vladimir is married to a woman related to the Grabbes (daughter or niece of Bishop Gregory [Grabbe]?), and through that connection, Antony Grabbe was received as a Bishop (retired Bishop, I think) by ROAC.

Joy Of All Who Sorrow Convent In Florida

Post by Bogatyr »

Grabbe's Joy Of All Who Sorrow Convent in Florida definitely went with +paisios. I believe grabbe did as well. Grabbe isn't listed on the ROAC website. This must be happening right now.
