In fact, this is a great idea that we True Orthodox could organize. I happened to catch sight of an Icon Drive to send to a mission in Africa. We could do the same for any locations, whether far afield or to help start-up missions. These would need Icons either to adorn their parish premises or paper ones to give out at Vigils or to catechumens.

Appropriate to mention since it's the Vigil of the Translation of Relics of St Nicholas.... .

Re: Old Icons, don't need? Can send to True Orthodox Churches
It would be best to contact our local parish priests in True Orthodoxy because there are always catechumen and inquirers who would dearly love to have icons donated for their prayer corner.
If any precious icons with inlaid jewels are among the items to be donated especially from the estate of a deceased loved one, they could find a new home in one of our True Orthodox temples, which are being built in the home missions in the USA and elsewhere.
Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

That's a great idea, Maria. In fact, since we are a small sector and much spread out across North America and elsewhere around the world, what about if some of us attended estate sales if convenient and looked for such treasures, which are TRUE heirlooms !
The family of the reposed would not likely be Orthodox or understand what an Icon is. Perhaps they even harbor hostile ideas toward veneration of holy Icons. Presumably, the executor of the estate would put holy objects out as part of a lot and not charge much.
Yes, Fr Irineos, we will send some of the nice ones to you ! You are working hard to promote True Orthodoxy and deserve it.
How is the property search or acquisition coming along, by the way, for the new church ?
Happy Feast of St Nicholas, everyone !

WOW ! That is SO impressive ! I am amazed how far you are along in the construction. Looks GREAT.
Especially that arch and the part where the altar will go. It was educational for me to see how these are actually built.
Why not post more pictures as you go along ? It's instructive for all of us to see how the framework is done.
Looks like a lovely setting, too. You have some land around the Church, it seems ? Excellent.
