Dear All,

This truly a sad day for those who know Father George. He is my Godbrother.

I got an e-mail from them the other day signed "Bishop John." I thought at the time it was a typo for "Bishop George." It didn't make since.
They responded because I chose to terminate all discussion with them and I accused them of ethical problems.
I have always felt that Gregory was only intersted in recognition and numbers. Why else did he build that big and beautiful church? There's only a few people there. They didn't need that church. I believe its because he wanted to make the monastery more attractive and appealing to other Orthodox people. He once again took matters into his own hands and didn't trust God.
My official position on them now is that they are complete and utter crackpots and schismatics -- obsessed with numbers, recognition and prestige -- kind of like the Etna people (except Etna has no concept of the virtue of love).
Proud and schismatics nutts like them are the cause of so many problems in the Church today.
Al he does is cause divisions.
Now he wants to make himself look big and powerful, so he ordained George to be a bishop to give the impression he is a big and powerful synod competing with other Orthodox groups. This is truly sick.
Neither Gregory (he submits to no authority but his own. He reminds me of President Bush) or George are qualified or worthy of the bishopric. And both are invalid -- despite their unbelievable and unparalleled pride and disobedience.
I found this. Photos of the consecration of Father George to the now Bishop John
Evfimy,
Thank you for bringing this back on topic. I admit, I got carried away. No more.
Now that Euthymios and Inco are gone, we can get back to the original topic.
Personally, I do not know anything about Bp. John. A friend of mine had stated,in the past, that he was planning on joining Bp. Gregory's church. I know the general view of who he is, but I didn't have anything concrete, in my knowledge of what to tell him about it.
No doubt this topic has been discussed before, but I get confused with the back and forth comments.
Can somebody give me the reasons, in point form, about what is wrong with Bp. Gregory? I need a refresher coarse.
Thanks
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. (Ps. 50)
Based on everything I know, Gregory is a crypto-papist. He believes he and he alone comprises the only correct understanding of the canons, father's and tradition of the Church.
He suffers from the delusion that he is infallible. And that churches actually cease being valid churches just because he chose to leave them. That the Church follows him wherever he goes. That Orthodoxy does not exist where he is NOT.
I think Saint Ignatius said
"Where Christ is, there is the Church."
And Saint Ambrose said
"Where Peter is [the faith of Peter], there is the Church."
But Gregory of Colorado has his own program:
Where Gregory is, there is the Church (so he seems to think).
Also, he is unstable. Since 1994 I believe he has been in five jurisdictions. He pushes the necessity for people to join him in these jurisdictions, than he later decides to leave those jurisdictions. And he thinks they ceased being rightly confessing jurisdictions just because he decided to leave them. Occam's Razor dictates that all things being equal, the simplest explanation tends to be the right one. So tell me. What is the more simpler explanation? All the metropolitans and bishops of all those churches were wrong, or Gregory was wrong? The answer and simplest explanation should be obvious.
I think he has a pride and ego problem. He think's he is infallible. Everyone is wrong but he himself.
And I believe he suffers from a cultic persecution complex.
And whenever anything tragic happens to any of his antagonists, he views it as the "chastisement of God" upon them.
My main problem with him is that he causes nothing but chaos and confusion for people. And I think he is an extreme schismatic.
He has a need to feel important and superior to people.
The Kiusis synod deposed him for a reason, as did ROAC. But Gregory recognizes no authority but himself. He has a protestant mentality and does not care for or respect authority.
Enough said. We are not supposed to speak bad about bishops. What about schismatic and uncanonical ones? I don't know.
May God enlighten Gregory and those with him.
