Huge explosion in Redford, Michigan

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

Huge explosion in Redford, Michigan

Post by Maria »

Redford Twp. - Redford police and fire crews responded to a house explosion that left one person critically injured.

Some witnesses say they felt and heard the shake miles away.

Gas leak or meth lab? Police are checking all leads. Nothing yet.

House was leveled and left a crater.

When I was teaching at a community college, a neighborhood meth lab exploded, and it was felt for miles.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

Police say to avoid the area Sunday night while the cleanup of debris takes place. Debris is said to have been found more then a thousand feet away from the explosion.

As of now, there is no cause of the explosion but fire officials say natural gas could be the factor.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

Investigators now say propane could be behind the fire and explosion. We're told it happened around 6 p.m. Sunday in the area of 7 Mile and Gaylord. That's between Inkster and Beech Daly roads.

Neighbors living on surrounding blocks said the explosion shook their homes. The impact blew debris into nearby yards and even shattered windows in some homes. ...

DTE Energy confirms that they have not had a customer connected to the meter at the home since 2004, which led them to investigate whether propane was a factor in this incident.
