My friend John who grew up in Sheffield told me about an English Church built in the 12 or 13 hundreds -- so 7 or 800 year old building-- that was sold by the C of E to muslims who promptly razed it to the ground and build a big ugly cube for their idol worshippers. Imagine all the weddings, baptims, funerals, prayers of people in grief, sadness, loss who reached out to Christ in that church, all the sermons preached to pews that were full to people in wartime, or other difficulty and had their spirits encouraged...all that has been desecrated. Can you imagine what the reaction would have been if in Saudi Arabia the authorities had sold a mosque built 800 years ago to an immigrant Christian community and they did that? They would all have been massacred. And if they could have they would have blocked the sale to begin with. They have more zeal for their false idols than Christians do for Christ.
