Why to avoid alcohol : Liver "flush" info

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

Why to avoid alcohol : Liver "flush" info

Post by Barbara »

"...any consumption of alcohol causes inflammation of the liver’s tissue. Once the liver is inflamed, it can no longer filter, which causes it to plug up with fat and become even more inflamed. If we consume enough alcohol, we overwhelm the liver’s ability to regenerate itself, and the net result is cirrhosis (or hardening) of the liver."

And, look, the main liver herb is named for the Heavenly Queen !

"Milk thistle, aka St. Mary's thistle, is probably the world's best known liver herb. Its two key compounds are silymarin and silibinin (aka silybin). Dozens of studies have shown that both silymarin and silibinin can prevent or counteract damage to the liver caused by toxins such as alcohol, acetaminophen (Tylenol), and other drugs, as well as environmental (heavy metals) and bacterial toxins, and even poison mushrooms"

I am not necessarily recommending this program. But the information given about treatment of liver congestion --- from which nearly every modern person suffers --- is sound. It helps us to focus on the importance of taking care of one's liver, the overburdening of which is responsible for many many ailments which need NOT occur with even a little care.

I drink lemon water or apple cider vinegar to flush my liver whenever I am feeling sluggish and exhausted.

Both work.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

Yes, of course they do ! But I fear they only touch the surface levels.
To get rid of the deeper layers of toxins, I suspect these herbs will scrub away in a more thorough manner
than the 2 you mentioned. Lemon and Apple Cider vinegar are advisable to consume regularly anyway.

I thought maybe seeing a list of all the problem-causers like tylenol might spark some of our readers into deciding to not take those anymore. Instead they might want to fix the old chronic problems which result in those momentary headaches, etc. by resorting to herbs and food as remedies.

I might add that I am afraid to touch any mushroom, no matter how supposedly gourmet it is.
I don't trust any of them. It's not worth getting even mildly poisoned.

I am sure all the Eastern Europeans and Russians will heartily disagree, for they love to hunt mushrooms.

But I would rather play it safe !

I likewise stay away from mushrooms, only because they are fungus, and so is penicillin mold, to which I am allergic.
Doctors advised me that blue cheese is actually penicillin mold, so I must stay away from all aged cheeses, especially blue cheese, which I use to use on my salads.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.
