A popular revolt against the EP is starting ....

Post by Maria »

  • Beloved Brethren,

Attached you will find a text prepared by the Synaxis of Orthodox Clergy and Monastics and signed by all

its members which presents and examines the novel ecclesiological views recently expressed by

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. You will note that six of the Church of Greece's hierarchs - Andrew

of Dryinoupolis, Seraphim of Piraeus, Paul of Glyfada, Seraphim of Kythira, Kosmas of Aetolia and

Akarnanias, and Jeremiah of Gortynos - have already added their signatures to this document and it will

certainly be signed by a broader segment of the clergy and laity in the coming days.

The effect of this text will be greatly increased if you, and any other clergyman, monastic or layman

whom you may know, add your signatures to the following document and then return it to us

electronically at the following e-mail address: synaxisorthkm@gmail.com

Lord have mercy.

Let us pray that those who sign will be open to join the True Orthodox.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

What means here "TRUE ORTHODOX" in connection with the heretic parasynagogue "Ecumenical Patriarchate" under the leadership of Bartholomaios Archondonis, this great traitor of the Orthodox Faith ?

So many seem attached because they cannot conceive of 'Orthodoxy' without the EP. That we have had sadly in history Patriarchs whose teaching have been a departure from The Truth helps these good folk see clearly not at all, so far.

Possibly as the teaching and behaviour of the current holder of the EP departs farther and farther from that Truth it may be, God willing, that more and more will depart from him. Whether the faithful remnants will both address their differences with humility and engage in missioning to these same good folk is something one may only hope and pray for.

Certainly for the present 'EP' to talk of the the Vatican as a 'sister church' nails his colours to the flag staff. As for notions of accepting the so-called Western Paschalion, this would be another clear signpost of just how far the EP has fallen from the time of Saint John of Shanghai and San Francisco's condemnatory epistle of that Patriarchate.

Which Epistle was that by St John Maximovitch ?
I know of course of St Philaret's Epistles. But I hadn't heard of a statement by the Archbishop of Shanghai & San Francisco
condemning the EP.

I think that the compromises and heresies of the World Orthodox can only continue and increase over time. They are really fallen. They are really lost as an organisation. One can only hope that there will be as large an exodus of truth seekers as possible as a result of the increasingly obvious heretical nature of their hard-hearted and stiffnecked leadership, who think holiness is most apparent by how "nice" and "civil" and "affable" one appears. I think of Saint Arsenios the Great who was famed both for his incredible hights of undisputed holiness and grace, and for his sour and cold reception of laymen and other visitors. He drove visitors away on purpose and didn't mind looking mean or rude in doing it. No, holiness of the World Orthodox ecumenist leaders is absolutely false and a deception.

Interesting, Icxypion.
Do you have any source for a good Life of St Arsenios the Great ?
That IS admirable that he was true to his calling and did not want to waste precious time in chatter with laymen.
I think this has posed a problem for many monastic Saints and monastics in general over the centuries.

St Feofil of the Kiev Caves coated his doorstep with TAR - !! - to discourage light-minded, superficial visitors.
That was another version of the same idea.

Not to sidetrack the thread.

About St John's essay against the EP, I believe it does exist. We have to find the link for it.
